Sooo. We blew in sometime last night, here's our oh-so-lovely story:
We come from a world known as Nevus, which incidentally is another name for a type of mole in the earthworld. Great. Anyway, Nevus was a gorgeous planet once... diverse wildlife, what have you. But that was a long long time ago. The world is very very industrialized, full of factories, to the point that you can no longer walk the surface of the planet without at least a rudimentary gas mask due to all the smog. Most animal species except the domesticated ones are now extinct, and the majority of the forests have been destroyed. The world was ruled by a very cruel dictator. One of the laws he has put into place is that each woman may have only one child in her lifetime, similar to the Earthworld's country China. Except that the second child must be destroyed. This was to help curb the rapidly growing population.
Except Sheena and I are twins.
We are very lucky that our mother was a member of a rebel group... high price on her head, which eventually caught up to her. But she didn't go to the hospital, she went through hell and back to make sure we were safe. We're about 23 now.
And we are very very very grateful to her. But we wanted to get the hell out of there. So after our mother died we started traveling worlds, looking for a nice place to settle... most worlds are extremely hostile, the people there don't WANT "aliens" settling on their worlds. They wouldn't accept us.
This place... this place is nice. This place is a keeper. Everyone here has been nothing but nice to us and boy, do we appreciate it. We enjoy traveling and may not always stay here, but we will keep coming back. We will call this our home base, so to speak. Because this world is full of friendly people... and they're all from different worlds, just like us. They don't even care that we aren't human! It's great.
And here is a description of what we look like, because Alice thinks it's a good idea:
We are both a little taller than your average human at 6'10" but hey. That's okay. Heheh.
Finn; Pale skin, bright green eyes, short dark brown hair (looks almost black), thin, dresses in T-shirts with witty sayings, black boots, black jeans and aviator goggles with a brown leather strap and purple tinted lenses (usually around my neck), and black fingerless gloves.
Sheena; Pale skin, pale green eyes, short almost-black hair (Mine's shorter than Finn's actually!), not quite as skinny as Finn is, dresses in blue jeans, black off the shoulder top, Nevoyan equivalent of Converse.
As for the species, a few things that set us apart from humans: We have a long tongue that's rather prehensile (the better to taste you with!), catlike pupils (the better to stalk you with!), and our ears are ever so slightly pointed (the better to...oh hell I don't know). Other than that I think we're pretty similar. Oh, our eyes come in bright bright colors... Finn's are almost lime green or chartreuse.
So yeah. There you go. Fun fun.
Edit: Evidently we left out some things in our description of ourselves! We seem to have longer fingers than humans. We also have slanted eyes and apparently to humans our ears aren't just 'slightly' pointed! Heh. They can move slightly too but most of the movements are minimal and only really noticed if you're looking for them - and body language is a big part of communication for us so we do notice them. And it seems that we are a tad less clumsy than humans (so says Sheena, who thinks humans' apparent clumsiness is amusing!). And we have small stripes on our shoulders/necks/upper arms. Ours are blue. They don't wrap around, they're just little lines, you know? Oh and we have tails. Also blue. With lighter blue stripes. They're kind of... reptilian I guess? Alice is going "How can you forget to write that you have TAILS?" We're just used to it is all. -grin-
